Commercial Electrical Project Manager

The Project Manager works closely with the leadership team to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and client requirements.

Responsibilities:

    • Project Planning and Coordination: 
      • Develop project plans, timelines, and schedules for electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs in commercial buildings.
      • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
      • Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine project feasibility and requirements.
      • Procure necessary materials, equipment, and resources for project execution.
    • Team Management and Leadership:
      • Supervise and provide leadership to electricians and other project team members.
      • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
      • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project objectives, expectations, and updates.
      • Provide technical guidance and support to team members as needed.
      • Perform annual evaluations of assigned personnel as directed 
    •  Quality Assurance and Compliance:
      • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
      • Conduct inspections and quality control checks to verify workmanship and compliance with project specifications.
      • Implement corrective actions as necessary to address deviations from quality and safety standards.
      • Maintain accurate project documentation, including permits, inspection reports, and change orders.
    • Client Communication and Relationship Management:
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
      • Communicate project progress, milestones, and any issues or concerns to clients in a timely manner.
      • Address client inquiries, requests, and feedback professionally and promptly.
      • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to foster trust and satisfaction.
    • Budgeting and Cost Management:
      • Prepare project budgets and cost estimates based on labor, materials, and other project expenses.
      • Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
      • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies to optimize project profitability.
      • Review and approve subcontractor invoices and expenses.
      • Work closely with Billing Coordinator to send out invoices in a timely manner

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, but not required
    • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification required
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial electrical project management, including planning, execution, and oversight
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations relevant to commercial construction
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Passion for learning and sharing knowledge with team members.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
    • Clean driving record
