As an apprentice, you will attend classes 1-2 times per week and work full-time while receiving paid on-the-job training hours. Apprenticeship classes are conducted through the Indy IEC.

Responsibilities
- Punctual and dependable reporting to on-the-job training work, as well as classes. Appropriately report training hours worked to supervisor and to the IEC
- Learn from and assist the lead journeyman electrician, follow instructions, and complete all assigned duties
- Communicate with clients and team members in a professional, courteous manner at all times
- Collaborate with team members, other vendors, and peers effectively
- Prepare and clean work areas
- Carry and deliver materials
- Install, repair, and maintain various electrical systems and equipment
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools; use ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and lifts to work on electrical systems
- Install electrical services, test electrical systems, conduct maintenance and troubleshooting for electrical systems and equipment
- Perform repairs and installation on lighting systems, replace or install components, wiring or devices
- Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings for installations
- Maintain equipment for safety and efficiency
- Follow safety codes and building regulations and maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be physically capable of performing the work of the trade
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to pass the required math entrance exam
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to learn, attend class regularly, and work overtime when required
- Ability to handle constructive criticism appropriately
- Successful enrollment in Indiana IEC’s Electrical Apprenticeship Program
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a clean driving record and possession of valid driver's license
- Must be willing and able to pass a drug screen and background check
